There's something about uncertainty that shakes us to our core. We wake up wondering if we're making the right choices, if things will work out, if we're enough. I've been there—standing in the middle of my own doubt, feeling like my faith was slipping through my fingers like sand.
But here's what I've learned: unshakeable faith isn't about never feeling afraid. It's about building something deeper—a foundation so solid that even when the ground shifts beneath us, we don't fall apart.
Faith Isn't About Certainty—It's About Trust
I used to think faith meant having all the answers. I thought if I just believed hard enough, everything would be clear and perfect. But that's not how faith works.
Real faith is trusting even when you can't see the whole picture. It's knowing that there's a force greater than your fear, greater than your doubt. It's choosing to believe in something bigger than your circumstances.
Three Practices That Anchor Faith When Life Feels Uncertain
1. Return to Your Spiritual Foundation Daily
When uncertainty creeps in, I've found that the most powerful thing I can do is return to my spiritual practice. Whether it's prayer, meditation, or simply sitting in stillness, these moments reconnect me to something steady.
This isn't about forcing yourself to feel better. It's about creating space where faith can breathe. When you show up for your spiritual practice even when you're scared, you're telling yourself—and the universe—that you trust.
2. Look for Evidence of Divine Care in Small Moments
One of the most transformative shifts I made was learning to notice the small ways that life supports me. A conversation that came at exactly the right moment. A solution that appeared when I needed it. A person who showed up without being asked.
These aren't coincidences. They're evidence. When you start collecting these moments—really seeing them—your faith grows. You realize you're not alone. You're being guided.
3. Release the Need to Control the Outcome
This is the hardest one for me, but it's also the most liberating. Unshakeable faith means letting go of the illusion that you can control everything. You can't. And that's actually good news.
When you stop trying to force outcomes, you free up so much energy. Energy that can go toward trusting, toward being present, toward actually living instead of just worrying. Faith grows in the space where control ends.
What Does Unshakeable Faith Actually Feel Like?
I want to be honest with you: unshakeable faith doesn't mean you never feel scared. It doesn't mean you wake up every morning feeling blissful and certain. That's not real.
What it does mean is that underneath the fear, there's something solid. A knowing. A quiet confidence that you're held, that you're guided, that everything is unfolding exactly as it needs to. Even when you can't see it yet.
It feels like being able to breathe even when things are hard. It feels like knowing that this moment—this uncertain, scary moment—is not the end of your story. It's just a chapter.
Your Faith Is Stronger Than You Think
If you're reading this and feeling like your faith is fragile, I want you to know something: you're stronger than you think. Every time you've gotten through a hard moment, you were using faith. Every time you've hoped for something better, you were exercising faith. Every time you've chosen to keep going, you were living faith.
Building unshakeable faith isn't about becoming someone different. It's about recognizing the faith that's already inside you and nurturing it. It's about showing up for yourself spiritually, even when—especially when—things feel uncertain.
As you move through your own uncertain times, I invite you to explore these practices. Notice what shifts when you return to your spiritual foundation, when you look for evidence of divine care, and when you release control. Your faith is waiting to be strengthened.
If you're looking for deeper guidance on building faith and trust, my books offer reflective practices and meditations designed to help you strengthen your spiritual connection. They're tools for slowing down, reconnecting with what matters most, and cultivating the kind of faith that holds you steady through anything.
